Last week our good friend and colleague - Kevin Ash - was given the 'Dave Taylor Lifetime Achievement Award' in the MCN Awards for 2013.
Kevin was first and foremost a family man who adored his three daughters and wife, but he also happened to have a job he loved, as a motorcycle journalist.
Having written for MCN for over twenty years and having a regular Daily Telegraph column as well as writing for publications across the world, he travelled far and wide to ride every type of bike you could imagine, to give his honest views to both industry and the public.
Sadly on one of these occasions in January of this year he lost his life.
As a way of a remembering Kevin Ash, his wife Caroline and MCN Road Tester Adam Child came up with 'Kevin's Last Lap', which was held at Silverstone International Circuit on Friday August 9th 2013.
It was both a way for friends, colleagues and readers to honour and remember Kevin, as well as a fundraiser for the Kevin Ash Memorial Fund (set up to aid in his daughters' education).
