Speakers' Corner: ISRAEL GETS ADMONISHED
SPEAKERS' CORNER in London's Hyde Park has long and widely been known as a place of debate and dissent: a small area where 'mouthing-off' is permitted.

The area around, known as Tyburn, had been the venue for public hangings for centuries. Not all such executions were for 'ordinary crimes' such as stealing. Some indeed were for seditious activities.

So in a way it was natural (understandable) that it was to here that great angry throngs would coalesce to hear rabble-rousing invective. Riots and public order offences were numerous enough to provoke a 'solution' ~ a "designated area" where anyone with a gripe could sound-off. That provision was duly included in a parliamentary bill in 1872.

So long as there was no danger of changing anything, permission to speak openly and publicly would go on until the present time....

THIS TALK starts with the Arab Spring (which had begun with the suicide, the self-immolation of Mohamed Bouazizi, a Tunisian fruit vendor) before HUE goes on to bemoan the ongoing Ethnic Cleansing of the indigenous peoples of the Levant.
