How Washing Cars Led to Crashing Lamborghinis for Fashion | HYPEBEAST Diaries: Arthur Kar
  • 6 years ago
Following up on Blondey McCoy’s episode of our DIARIES series, we return with a closer look at a day in the life of Parisian car dealer and fashion designer Arthur Kar. Set during last month’s Paris Fashion Week, Kar launched his Lamborghini Diablo-starring “Crash Test” exhibit, a coming-of-age event for his emerging label L’Art de L’Automobile.

Before the event’s opening, Kar walks us through his showroom of priceless sports cars, touching on his roots as a car washer as a youth, the cool factor of scratched Ferraris and the value of his friendship with creatives like Heron Preston and Poggy. At the exhibition, Kar, wearing the ultra-limited Virgil Abloh x Nike Air Jordan 1 “White,” showcases his brand’s limited-edition merch alongside the ’90s-era Lamborghini, with influencers like Luka Sabbat and Sarah Andelman stopping by for a chat. Later on, Kar hops in a Ferrari to stop at The Broken Arm and his favorite Japanese restaurant in Paris.
