Residents take part in celebrations to mark the start of Buddhist Lent on July 28 by sailing traditional boats along the Samrong Canal in Samut Prakan, Thailand. Giant candles and other offerings were also given to local monks in order to mark the start of the festival, which saw a four day holiday across the country.
