Transport minister Anthony Loke said the e-hailing service needs to meet taxi standards to create a level playing field between both industries.
The e-hailing industry has to meet taxi industry standards, including:
- Drivers must obtain public service vehicle (PSV) licenses and undergo a criminal background check.
- Vehicles registered more than three years must have annual Puspakom inspections.
- Vehicles registered more than three years must have annual Puspakom inspections.
