A video filmed in the Kruger National Park in South Africa shows an adorable baby elephant’s amusing attempts to drink water like the adults by using its trunk. “The young elephant attempts splashing water up into its mouth, but this method is not very effective,” the filmer said. “After valiantly attempting to use its trunk — swinging it around in all directions — the inexperienced elephant eventually gives up." “The next moment the elephant calf adorably bends down and starts drinking water directly with its mouth,” the filmer continued. “This scenario was repeated several times and had everyone in awe.” “This is something not many people will see in nature, and we were amazed by this adorable and fascinating behavior.” the filmer said. “Elephants normally use their trunks to siphon up water and squirt it into their mouths. This helps them avoid such an awkward and vulnerable position while drinking water. This baby elephant was clearly not capable of using its trunk yet.”
