Once again our starting point is President Moon Jae-in's state visit to India. It's the second of his six day tour of South and Southeast Asia. Our Hwang Hojun who is traveling with the liberal leader is standing by on the line. Let's connect to him right now. Hojun, what do you have for us at this point.
Daniel, so for today, the keywords for President Moon's itinerary are 'Business' and 'economic cooperation' between Seoul and New Delhi. Just about half an hour ago, President Moon attended the South Korea-India Business Forum, where he met with about 400 business leaders from both countries. He explained his vision of how South Korea and India can cooperate to strengthen their economic ties, proposing the so-called ' 3P Plus Partnership,' adding future cooperation for the 4th Industrial Revolution to the existing 'Peace, Co-prosperity, and Peace.' He also encouraged Korean companies to explore the Indian market to create new growth engines. Following the forum, the South Korean president is scheduled to make a stop at the dedication ceremony of a new factory of Samsung Electronics in Noida, northern India. The new facilities comprise the largest cell phone factory in India, and even though President Moon's bilateral summit with his Indian counterpart is scheduled for tomorrow, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also confirmed his attendance to the ceremony. And joining the two heads of state is Samsung Electronics' Vice Chair Lee Jae-yong. This will be the first time President Moon meets with Lee since his inauguration, let alone attending an event hosted by the South Korean tech giant. It will also be Vice Chair Lee's first time attending a public event since he was released from jail in February, after serving nearly a year behind bars for his involvement in the corruption scandal that led to the impeachment of former President Park Geun-hye. The Blue House stressed that President Moon's attendance at the dedication ceremony of Samsung's new plant does not carry any political meaning. Rather, it said it's simply meant to encourage Korean businesses and demonstrate Seoul's determination to expand cooperation in investment and the manufacturing business with India. President Moon will end his second day by meeting with local Korean residents. Daniel.
