In a move that was awaited by the farmers, the cabinet has finally approved the increment in MSP of Kharif crop. MSP for paddy to rise sharply by Rs 200 to Rs 1,750 per quintal the move gains significance in the light of upcoming general elections. The government's move is also in line with the government's budget announcement of hiking the support price by one-and-a-half times of the production cost for Kharif crops.
