U.S. to set no timeline in North Korea's denuclearization: Pompeo

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said there is no timeline for North Korea's denuclearization, but that the U.S. is committed to moving forward at an "expeditious moment".
Speaking to CNN in a telephone interview on Sunday, marking his first two months in office, Pompeo added that the Trump administration will "constantly reassess" whether enough progress is being made to continue negotiations.
This contradicts a senior defense official, who said ahead of Defense Secretary Jim Mattis' trip to Asia that Washington will soon set a timeline for North Korea with "specific asks".
Pompeo himself had also told reporters the day after the first ever North Korea-U.S. summit on June 12th that Washington hopes to achieve "major disarmament" by North Korea within Trump's current term, which ends in January 2021.
