Pompeo says N. Korea nuclear talks advancing

According to U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, the recent nuclear negotiations with North Korea are different from those in the past.
In an interview Saturday with MSNBC,... the top U.S. diplomat said both sides understand where the so-called "red line" is, and neither of them is preparing to go past it,... which allows them to believe that things will be different this time.
Pompeo made clear that should Pyongyang follow through on complete denuclearization and allow verification,... the regime's security will be guaranteed.
He also praised North Korean leader Kim Jong-un -- saying he's very bright and knows the topics very well,... adding that Kim is also looking to see whether the U.S. is serious.
However, Pompeo also noted if the negotiations prove to be either not in good faith or unproductive,... the U.S. will go hard,... with sanctions to remain in place,... and the enforcement of those sanctions to continue.
