Derrick L. Carter 'Dreaming Again'
Three tracks from Chicago's finest, kicking off with 'Dreaming Again' which harks back to the very best of Sound Patrol, Blue Cucaracha and the Red Nail vibe. A trademark Carter groove that builds and develops perfectly with narration from the man himself, think KC Flight's 'Voices' with Cajmere on the mix. 'Birthday Song (For Andy)' is bottom end bass ridden down tempo cut with DC on fine singing form. The real hit pick though comes in the form of 'Boompty Boomp Theme', without doubt the most downright funkiest track on the EP. Although the BPMs will keep this off 'safe' DJ sets, those who dare certainly will win.
