French President Emmanuel Macron delivered a very firm message to President Trump on Thursday.

French President Emmanuel Macron delivered a firm message to President Trump on Thursday.  According to The Hill, when asked if he believed Trump cares about ending up "isolated" from the leaders of many allied nations, Macron replied, "Maybe, but nobody is forever."
"The six countries of the G-7 without the United States, are a bigger market taken together than the American market," Macron added. The comments came just one day before the G-7 Summit, which is taking place in Canada.  It is expected to have some challenging moments due to Trump's recent announcement that the US will impose tariffs on the European Union, Canada and Mexico.  In advance of the summit, Macron participated in a joint press conference with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Trudeau said at the briefing that one of his G-7 goals was to help Trump understand how the tariffs could impact people in the US.  "American jobs are on the line because of his actions and because of his administration," Trudeau said. "When we can underscore this, and we see that there's a lot of pressure within the U.S., perhaps he will revise his position."
Later in the day, Trump posted his apparent response to the remarks.
"Please tell Prime Minister Trudeau and President Macron that they are charging the U.S. massive tariffs and create non-monetary barriers," Trump tweeted. "The EU trade surplus with the U.S. is $151 Billion, and Canada keeps our farmers and others out. Look forward to seeing them tomorrow."
