Germany orders global recall of 60,000 Audi A6, A7 models to remove 'emissions-cheating' software

Germany's motor authority has ordered a global recall of nearly 60-thousand Audi cars after an investigation found illegal emissions software in them.
Those subject to the recall will be A6 and A7 models fitted with 3.0-liter Euro 6 diesel engines.
Germany's Federal Motor Transport Authority said it has ordered the so-called "defeat devices" to be removed and the vehicles to be refitted according to regulations.
Audi and its parent company Volkswagen have long been embroiled in what has been labeled the "dieselgate" scandal, which has cost VW more the 25 billion U.S. dollars in fines and compensation, mostly in the U.S.
