I came across this extraordinary transparent clay a while ago and really wanted to try it out. Its made by the Japanese company Nisshin and there is very little information about this clear clay online. It only says that its silicone based. The clay is self curing which means its not an air dry or polymer clay, but behaves more like 2-part resin or silicone mold makers. When the promoter is added, it speeds up the hardening process.\r

My biggest regret here is that I left this video too late and my clay had already started to dry up. So it wasnt in an ideal state to sculpt with and the texture was lumpy, similar to wax. I think this clay has a lot more potential, especially for making thin pieces like miniature flowers, ice, crystals, vases or plates. However I think its worth showing a demo just so you can see how it works. Its very easy to use and unlike any other clay Ive tried!\r

This design was inspired by a cat-shaped water cake / raindrop cake / mizu Shingen mochi by Twitter user @mithiruka! I was looking for ideas for a transparent DIY for a while and it was the perfect thing to test this clay with. The shape was a bit too round to show off the transparency, so the clay is more suitable for smaller items like ice, crystals or flower petals.
