Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admits beating Chelsea had become "a bit of a hurdle " for his players, after the Gunners defeated Jose Mourinho's Blues 1-0 in the Community Shield at Wembley.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain scored the winner with a powerful left-foot drive into the top corner during the first half, with Ramires missing a chance to equalise for Chelsea by heading over unmarked from close range.

The result means Wenger has finally beaten a Mourinho side at the 14th time of asking, having previously drawn six and lost seven matches.
