Police have released terrifying footage showing the moment a brave shopkeeper fended off an armed robber - with a SPANNER. The masked thug can be seen bursting into the newsagents and threatening the worker with what appeared to be a gun wrapped in a bin bag. But the hero shopkeeper fought back and bashed the yob across the face and hand with a spanner he kept behind the till at Simply Local in Bartley Green, Birmingham.
