Panicked English fans had no where safe to run to as Russian hooligans charged at them in the stands after their Euro 2016 opener, an eye witness said. Sam Blackwell was inside the Stade Velodrome in Marseille on Saturday night when Russian thugs launched the attack on English fans following the final whistle. The Russians managed to get past stewards and police to attack English fans inside their own stand. He saw how panicked English fans had to clamber over barriers to escape while others who tried to defend themselves were set upon by the thugs from Russia.
