Controlled Explosion of Fife Tower Block

Hundreds of people braved the snow yesterday (Sun) and gathered to watch a block of flats being demolished. Crowds looked on as the last remaining tower block in Kincardine, Fife, was brought to the ground in a controlled explosion. Three high-rise blocks, named Kincairne Court, Sandeman Court and Ramsay Court, were built in the 1960's. But in recent years the flats have lain largely empty and Fife Council approved plans to demolish them in 2007. Kincairne Court and Sandeman Court were demolished in June 2010 to make way for a £9million development of 65 social rent houses.
