Horse cremation service was just a scam

A rider rumbled a knackerman who sent her horse to be made into fertiliser instead of a £900 private cremation - when she noticed that the casket was too SMALL. Sharon Widdows, 40, was left devastated when her Thoroughbred gelding Otto had to be put down after falling in the field aged 18. She paid £920 for a private cremation for Otto and was assured he would be given a fitting "send off", with his ashes presented to her shortly after the service. But the mother-of-two contacted authorities when she was handed a tiny casket - used for dogs - and told it contained 16.3hh Otto's ashes.
