Kim-Trump summit expected to happen in Singapore on June 12: White House

As a follow-up to that report...
The White House is still optimistic a historic summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un will take place in Singapore as originally scheduled -- that is in less than two weeks from now -- June 12th.
Kim Hyo-sun tells us more.
The White House expects a summit with North Korea will happen in Singapore on June 12th... as originally scheduled.
Referring to the working-level talks between the North and the U.S. to prepare for a historic summit between the two leaders,... White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Wednesday that the Trump administration is continuing preparations to make the summit a reality.

"We're continuing to prepare for the meeting between the president and the North Korean leader. As the president says, if it happens, we'll certainly be ready."

Sanders also explained an American delegation led by U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines, Sung Kim, have been meeting with its North Korean counterpart at the Korean Demilitarized Zone,... adding that their meetings will continue.
She described the meetings that have been held so far as positive,... adding that such momentum will be maintained.
She also pointed out that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will meet with President Trump before holding talks in New York City with Kim Yong-chol,... one of the North Korean leader's most trusted aides.
Sanders highlighted the importance of discussing denuclearization in order to finalize the date for President Trump's meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
