Remove grease from the surface, clean the door window, get your burner tops back to looking good, etc. \r
\r
Hey there, Im Jeff with Home Repair Tutor and theres no doubt that we all need a little help getting our oven looking clean again.\r
\r
This may sound a little simple but always follow the cleaning directions in your ovens owners manual. \r
\r
What if you cant find the manual? \r
\r
Well, youre kinda up the creek. Just kidding, haha.\r
\r
My first tip is to use a baking soda and water mixture that has the consistency of Elmers glue. Allow this mixture to sit on your ovens greasy surface for 15 minutes then wipe it off with a soft sponge. \r
\r
Always test any cleaning solution though to make sure its compatible with your oven surface.\r
\r
Now heres the deal, the baking soda and water mixture didnt work to remove grease on on my ovens window. But you can use Dawn dishwashing liquid and its totally AWESOME.\r
\r
Allow the Dawn to sit on the window for 15 minutes then use a razor to remove grease residue. Yes, its scary to use a razor but thats what my owners manual called for and it worked. Hold the razor at a 45 degree angle and youll be amazed at how well it works.\r
\r
Should you use the self-clean button if you have one.\r
\r
If youve got a vent or window in your kitchen and arent afraid then go ahead and self-clean. \r
\r
Ive got some great tips for how to prep for the self-cleaning process and what to do for cleaning the stove top, burners, racks, and more.\r
