I head to Aston Martin's HQ in Gaydon to confirm the final spec and options for my incoming Vantage GT8, due at the end of the year.

The final choices are: Cobalt Blue with the orange accent pack, 6-speed manual, the full aero kit with wing and extended splitter and of course the titanium exhaust. The interior will be decked out in black alcantara with orange stitching and embroideries to tie into the exterior accent - armed with all the carbon options under the sun, naturally.

Going further into the extras, given the rare and special nature of the car I have given it a very high specification in general with all technology and most visual options, for example the carbon wing badges, carbon door sill plaque, some custom Q painted parts on the exterior, and so forth.

It's without doubt that there will be many people who think this is a little too bold, but the GT8 is inspired by a racer - if there is ever an opportunity to enjoy two-tone contrasting colours, this is it. Let's be honest, if you ask the internet what colour to choose, you end up with black...
