A truly remarkable 1,000 mile adventure on the legendary event that is the Mille Miglia. A chaotic 4 day trip from Brescia in Northern Italy to Rome and back, taking 500 historic cars and countless support vehicles through pedestrianised town centres, mountain passes and some rather distinct locations!
Team #JaguarMille celebrated the 2014 event with a 10-car lineup from the Heritage department, complete with a fascinating driver selection, including Jay Leno, Brain Johnson and the pair of Martin Brundle and Bruno Senna in a D-Type. The full list is as follows:
XK120 - Jay Leno / Ian Callum XK120 - Elliot Gleave (Example) / Erin Gleave XK120 - Charlie Turner / Jeremy Irons XK120 - David Blakeley / Jodie Kidd XK120 - Mike Cross / Mikey Harvey C-Type - Bernard Kuhnt / Milow C-Type - Brian Johnson / Mark Dixon D-Type - Martin Brundle / Bruno Senna C-Type - Richard Frankel / Andy Wallace XK140 - TBC / Jason Barlow
In addition to the Heritage team, Jaguar brought a fleet of 9 of the latest F-Type R Coupes for media and VIPs to be part of a little rally of their own, cutting in and out of the main event but travelling a similar route through Italy. This is our story from onboard one of these fabulous 550hp supercharged V8 machines, as we experience Mille Miglia for the very first time, and no doubt in the best possible way thanks to an amazing event arranged by Jaguar.
