On the basis of the 911 GT3 RS production sports car, Porsche has designed a new customer racing car for the GT3 series worldwide in 2019: the 911 GT3 R. Special attention was paid to the development of the up to 404 kW (550 hp) 9-series a particularly efficient aerodynamics, further optimized safety and the reduction of maintenance and spare parts costs. The lightweight design of the 911 GT3 RS series sports car with intelligent aluminum-steel composite construction has proven to be the ideal basis for the close-to-production racing car. Roof, bonnet and fairing, wheel arches, doors, side and rear parts and tailgate and interior trim are made of extra lightweight carbon fiber composite (CFRP). All windows are made of polycarbonate.
