South Korea's consumer inflation climbs 1.6%y/y in April

Consumer prices in South Korea increased one-point-six percent on-year in April,... a faster rate of increase than the previous month's one-point-three percent on-year gain.
Statistics Korea says agricultural and livestock products went up sharply, by over four percent in April from the same period last year, driving the overall rise in consumer inflation last month.
Service prices also rose one-point-six percent on-year on the back of higher restaurant food prices.
Core CPI, which excludes oil and food prices, was up one-point-four percent on-year.
