And now we bring things back to the Dorasan checkpoint,... for a look at how the press here is covering the summit.
Let's connect to our Park Hee-jun is on the ground to soak in the atmosphere around our studio here in Paju.
Hee-jun.
Can you tell us more about the checkpoint, for those not so familiar with the location?

Hey , the Dorasan Checkpoint where we are,... is actually just a couple of kilometers away from Panmunjom,... where Moon and Kim have finally begun their long-anticipated summit.
Think of the Dorasan Checkpoint as the gateway connecting the two Koreas.
Also known as the Inter-Korean Transit Office,... and the Customs, Immigration, and Quarantine Office of South Korea,... the checkpoint is located in Paju, Gyeonggi-do Province-- just south of the demilitarized zone separating the two Koreas.
Around 200 Koreans used to pass through here every day when the Kaesong Industrial Complex was still operating.
It has been pretty much empty since the complex was shut down,... until the recent PyeongChang Winter Olympics when North Korean VIPs and athletes came through here to enter the South
And as you know,... it's been showing some life in the last few days ahead of the inter-Korean summit.

What we have is quite a rare sight in this part of the country, all thanks to the media buzz surrounding the inter-Korean summit.
What's it like outside the studio at the checkpoint? How are the media covering the event?

It's definitely different from the quiet and barren atmosphere of recent years.
Throughout the week -- the Dorasan checkpoint has been bustling with workers preparing studios and other equipment for live coverage of the summit.
I've been here since yesterday,... and I've seen hundreds of people come and go from both the local and foreign press.
And all day reporters have been going live on camera.
There was an interesting scene actually.
When the two leaders met and their encounter went live on air in the morning-- all eyes and ears were tuned to the long-awaited moment.
They were focused on the television screens and smartphones.
It was the kind of attention that only such a history-making summit could have excited.

It's sure going to be a lot more hectic now that the talks have begun.
Of course, I'll keep you updated with the latest throughout the day-- back to you Aram.
