Divided views on whether N. Korea ending nuclear program shows sincerity on denuclearization PART 4

So that naturally leads us to the summits between the two Koreas... and between Washington and Pyongyang.
How will Pyongyang's announcement on Saturday influence these summit talks and what do we expect to be dealt with at the talks?

Well, at this point, the most important thing will be to see the North turning words into actions.
As for now, the North has not said anything about abandoning its nuclear weapons, but there is a possibility it could be leaving that as its final card to use at the negotiation table with the U.S.
North Korea will want to receive economic support and have its regime security guaranteed for sure in return for its complete, verifiable, and irreversible denuclearization.
At this Friday's summit talks with Pyongyang, South Korea aims to reach only a 'comprehensive' denuclearization declaration...
and leave it up to the U.S.-North Korea summit... for ironing out the specific steps in the denuclearization process -- like inspections and verifications.
There is hope... as North Korea's announcement over the weekend followed U.S. CIA director Mike Pompeo's visit to the regime early this month,... which could hint that there could has been some meaningful 'progress' on denuclearization talks between Washington and Pyongyang.

Alright, thanks for coming in today, Jung-hee.

My pleasure.
