The National Election Commission is expected to determine the fate of under-fire Financial Supervisory Service chief Kim Ki-sik in the coming hours.
The commission will hold a general meeting this afternoon to discuss allegations against the head of Korea's financial watchdog.
The Blue House has said it would refer to the commission's decision to see whether Kim's ethical standards as a lawmaker had been 'below average'.
Kim, who only became head of the FSS this month, faces four allegations including,... illegally giving nearly 46-thousand U.S. dollars to the Korea Institute for the Future in 2016, having overseas trips sponsored by financial institutions while he was a lawmaker few years ago, and promoting a female intern who accompanied him on some of his trips.
