IPL 2018: Highlights from Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) vs Chennai Super Kings (CSK)
Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 4 runs in Mohali's IS Bindra Stadium. With Christopher Henry Gayle making his debut for KXIP to MS Dhoni scoring his highest IPL score, here are a few stats you may have missed out while watching the game.

KXIP became the third team in IPL 2018 to win a match while setting up a target. Earlier in the day, Rajasthan Royals defended their 219 against Royal Challengers Bangalore in M. Chinnaswamy stadium. MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to field first and was blown over by the pyrotechnics of Chris Gayle who made his first appearance in IPL 2018 from KXIP. Along with KL Rahul, KXIP climbed up to 76 runs in the powerplay. In all the three matches played by KXIP till now, they've been scoring at an average of 11 runs per over in IPL 2018. Dwayne Bravo made sure that 200 runs couldn't be made by KXIP and a target of 198 was set up for CSK.

CSK came with a lot of pressure to chase down the target as they've never chased any total of 197 runs or more in IPL outside their home in Chennai. Some crafty bowling changes made by the KXIP captain and ex-CSK player, R Ashwin ensured that the asking rate was always climbing up. With more than 18 runs needed per over, MS Dhoni made sure his presence was felt for the first time in IPL 2018. He blasted the ball to all corners of the park and ended up with highest IPL total of 79*. Dhoni couldn't finish off the game in the last over bowled by Mohit Sharma but still CSK will take a lot of solace in the form their captain is in. Chris Gayle was awarded the Man of the Match award for his 63 runs in 33 balls.
