Speakers' Corner: CONSPIRACY 'THEORIES'

SPEAKERS' CORNER at the north-eastern edge of London's Hyde Park (to the surprise of some) is still happening ~ but in a somewhat diminished way.

Mind you, on a cold January day, what could one expect?

This time HUE is on his own.

“This is not one of my strongest films, but it’s the first one I made with my then new and very expensive Sony HD camcorder which took years it seem to save up for. Recently, I bought a Panasonic 4K, but the video shot with that at Speakers’ Corner has yet to be edited. By this time of course YouTube was up and running. I have spoke there, on and off, over a period of 29 years, but alas digital camcorders would take many years to make their event at the Corner. My talks are very ‘eclectic’, touching on many subjects ~ there’s bound to be something to offend everyone! I don't go in for involved arguments. I am not trying to convince anyone of anything. I'm seeking to provoke and stimulate people to go and find out more for themselves. With a World Wide Web, that easily becomes possible."

Here, Hue questions media reports concerning a then recent terrorist event.

Again, viewers shouldn't get discouraged that this video is from TwentyTen: some subjects covered are STILL topical.

Yet historical too: at 2:03 ~ 2:33 we can see one of the short-lived, characteristically red-liveried "Bendy Buses". They proved, as they turned corners, incredibly dangerous to Cyclists. That, plus people skipping paying their bus fares, nipping-on through the rear doors …meant it was best for These longer buses (used in many other world cities) to be quietly withdrawn ~ and no doubt sold on to those other cities!

This video is edited from two public talks here. The second was where the long-time Orator was one of the guest speakers on a soapbox set down by Britainthinks.

"If only it would!"
