'Stupid Trade': Trump Again Slams Trade Tariffs

President Trump on Monday again slammed international trade practices.

President Trump on Monday again took to Twitter and slammed the international trade practices.
"When a car is sent to the United States from China, there is a Tariff to be paid of 2 1/2%. When a car is sent to China from the United States, there is a Tariff to be paid of 25%. Does that sound like free or fair trade. No, it sounds like STUPID TRADE -  going on for years!" Trump wrote on Twitter.
This follows his tweet on Sunday in which the president speculated that China will eventually "take down" its trade barriers.
"President Xi [Jinping of China] and I will always be friends, no matter what happens with our dispute on trade. China will take down its Trade Barriers because it is the right thing to do. Taxes will become Reciprocal & a deal will be made on Intellectual Property. Great future for both countries!" the president tweeted.
Since the Trump administration announced that the US will impose tariffs on imported steel and aluminum, the stock market has experienced a significant decline over worries of a trade war.
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders downplayed those concerns at Friday's press briefing.
"We're focused on the long-term economic principles," Sanders responded to a question about the stock market turmoil. "Let's be clear: The tariffs that we're talking about with China have not been implemented and are months away. The President has cleared the way for a strong economic environment through the tax cuts, through deregulation."
