00:00Hi everyone I'm just checking my email inbox and look at the message that I just
00:20noticed that I have it is from Beth who is cooking and crafting and it says
00:28cupcakes from Beth so let's take let's take a look cupcakes from bath cooking
00:34and crafting dear Tammy here are the cupcakes I made for you to decorate
00:38please click on the link below to download and print your cupcakes aloha
00:43bath okay that sounds really cool let's see what happens we click on the link when
00:52I clicked on the link it said to turn your printer on and wait a couple of a
00:57minutes so I did that and my printer is making some noises and the door opens
01:03and lo and behold three chocolate cupcakes from Hawaii thank you Beth and I'm going
01:09to decorate them this is what I decided to do I decided to try to do a rainbow
01:14frosting technique I found this on Pinterest and I'll put a link in the
01:17description box to the original idea I use two different kinds of frosting and
01:22I'll show you the two different outcomes that I ended up getting the first one I
01:26tried was commercial frosting this frosting comes out of a can that I bought
01:31the grocery store and what I did is I divided that frosting into five
01:35different bowls now not equally because the bar the base of the frosting is
01:41violet and you use that the most of the violet you you need to put a little bit
01:46more violet then you need to put blue and even less green and even less yellow and
01:52so on because the circles get smaller but that'll become obvious as I show you
01:56how to do this now if you want to know what the proportions of frosting you're
02:00going to need if you're decorating a whole bunch of these please check out the
02:03link in the description box and the lady on that website gives you an idea of how
02:08many cups of each you will need to make a batch of cupcakes that look just like
02:11this so once you mix up your frosting I used Wilton paste food coloring I put the
02:17frosting in a piping bag with a large round tip a plain round tip that's a Wilton
02:25number 12 tip and then you need to draw a circle all the way around the edge of the
02:31cupcake then once you have the circle just fill in the center with the same
02:39color of frosting and then continue with all your cupcakes and you can see how
02:49the violet will take up the most amount of color because it's the it covers the
02:53largest part of the cupcake and I know this looks more blue than violet but
02:57there's something with my camera that doesn't capture that nice purple color for
03:03some reason now the next color you will put just on the inside of that and that is
03:08blue and continue this way for all the different colors just make sure that each
03:16color is just a little bit on the inside of the previous one so that you get all
03:20the colors showing and it makes like a cone shape as it's going up so you can see
03:25what I mean by each color taking up a little less space so you need less yellow
03:30then you would green I recommend you start at the same spot on each cupcake
03:35because you will get an uneven part where the frosting starts but if they're all on the
03:39same side then you can just turn the cupcake so that the pretty side is facing and then the last color
03:46will be orange and for red you add a maraschino cherry with or without a stem so
03:55that's the finished cupcake using the commercial frosting I also tried these with Swiss meringue buttercream
04:00now I have a video up on how to make these already on my channel and I'll put
04:04a link in the description box and in an annotation on your screen if you want to
04:08see how to do that basically Swiss meringue buttercream is egg whites and
04:12sugar that you heat over the stove until the egg whites reach a certain
04:17temperature and that the sugar is all dissolved once that happens you beat your
04:22egg whites and sugar with an electric mixer until it gets very light and very
04:26fluffy and then you add in some butter and you get a buttercream that's very light
04:32super fluffy silky smooth and something that is not quite as sweet as your
04:39traditional buttercream I did the same thing I tinted it using the Wilton paste
04:48food colors but right away I noticed that the colors aren't as vibrant as they were
04:53with the commercial frosting they're more of a pastel colors that I that I managed to
04:58get with it and I also used a star tip instead of a round tip on these and the
05:03end result looked more like an ice cream sundae I thought rather than that nice
05:08smooth rainbow look that I had seen on that website but I think they're equally as
05:13cute just in a different way so either way they make great cupcakes so why don't
05:20you give them a try so that's more of the smooth rainbow look there's a lot of
05:26frosting on these but not that much more than you would get if you were to buy a
05:30cupcake in a fancy gourmet cupcake shop the actual cupcakes were delicious so if
05:36you want to give them a try click on your screen to see Bath's chocolate
05:39cupcake recipe video or see the link in the description box below
05:42it's YouTube's best for creative things it's cooking and crafting
