Artist / Band Biography
Low Hum is the project of Los Angeles based songwriter and producer, Collin Desha. A long-standing member of LA's musical community, Desha formed Low Hum to explore his more romantic and cinematic leanings. Low Hum's sound pulses with an assured confidence in the face of emotional uncertainty. Using fuzzed out ballads and aggressive psych bangers with equal zeal, Desha confronts his world with an infectious, unbridled optimism. lowhum was written and recorded in Desha's home studio, and completed with drummer/producer Jules de Gasperis at Studio Meridian. The result is 5 deeply emotive tracks, reminiscent of late-era Elliott Smith, Tame Impala, and classic soul. As a live band, Low Hum emphasizes the deep groove inherent to Desha's songs, with EP standouts "Nebraska" and "Loss of Sophistication" reaching near pentecostal heights. Low Hum's first EP for Chain Letter Collective is out now.
