13-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide in Mumbai's Powai last evening. As per her parents statement given to police that she was upset after she was scolded by a teacher for allegedly cheating during an exams. As per cops, girl hung herself from the ceiling of her house in suburban Powai on Monday evening after returning from school in Kurla. No suicide note was recovered but her parents alleged that she took the step because a teacher had scolded her after finding chits in her answer sheet. Case of accidental death has been registered and further investigations were underway.
