After reports surfaced that the recent ball-tampering fiasco surrounding the Australian team and its captain Steve Smith will see the batting maestro lose his captaincy of the Indian Premier League outfit Rajasthan Royals, the team has now confirmed that experienced Indian batsman Ajinkya Rahane will take over the captainship. The ball-tampering scandal which was conspired by Steve Smith through Cameron Bancroft on the third day of the ongoing 3rd Test match between South Africa and Australia in Newlands Cape Town saw ICC issue a ban to the Aussie captain for a single Test match while charging his 100% match fee. Bancroft meanwhile, was penalised 75% fine.
