King Felipe receives association that promotes Spain’s historical legacy in US

Madrid, Mar 20 (EFE), (Camera: Santiago Castro).- King Felipe VI held a meeting on Tuesday with representatives of the association The Legacy, whose objective is to promote Spain’s historical and cultural contribution to the United States and promote ties between both countries.
The audience, which was military in character, took place at the Royal Palace, where Don Felipe, dressed in his navy uniform, greeted organization members, who were led by the entity’s president, Eva Garcia.
The Legacy, which is a civil, private and non-profit initiative, has the task of promoting Spain’s historical legacy in the US and, in particular, the contribution of the Spanish Army in the period between the 16th and 19th centuries.
For this reason, several military personnel also participated in the event, among them, the commander of the Allied Joint Force Command Naples, Admiral James Foggo, and the Second Chief of Staff of the Spanish Army, Lieutenant General Miguel Martin Bernardi, and of the Navy, Admiral Manuel Garat.
Also attending the event was Sociedad Estatal de Participaciones Industriales (SEPI) President Pilar Platero, and several business people, such as the Indra president Fernando Abril Martorell, Navantia President Esteban García Vilasánchez.
