UN Considers Truce in Syria's Ghouta as Carnage Continues

last year|10 views
Warplanes bombarded Ghouta in Syria for a fifth day on Feb. 22nd.
The city is the last rebel enclave in a prolonged civil war which began in 2011, and resides close to Damascus, Syria's capital.
At least 416 people have died in eastern Ghouta over the last week, with thousands more wounded.
The continued bombardment has led the UN Security Council to consider calling for a 30-day ceasefire across the country to allow emergency aid deliveries and medical evacuations.
