The ancient Hindu festival of colours, Holi, which heralds the end of winter and the victory of good over evil, is marked with a public holiday and sees revellers pour onto the streets in India. It will be celebrated on March 1 and 2 this year and Indian workers are busy preparing coloured powder, known as "gulal" to be used during the festivities.
