deb의 의미는 '거리를 배회하는 사춘기 소녀'로, 그동안 뎁은 이름의 본분에 충실한 행보를 걸어왔다. 청량한 사운드로 많은 사랑을 받은 'Peppertones' 페퍼톤즈의 객원보컬로 시작한 이력부터 그러하다. 페퍼톤즈의 여성객원보컬로 활동하며 그녀는 이른바 '홍대 여신'의 사랑스러운 이미지로 입지를 다지기 시작하였다. 그 이후 2008년, 솔로 1집 'Parallel Moons'를 발매하며 그녀는 자신만의 목소리를 내기 시작하였다. 1집은 작곡부터 프로그래밍까지 자신의 음악적 능력을 발휘한 첫 결과물로, 그녀는 싱어송라이터로서 두각을 나타냈다. 그 당시 홍대 인디씬은 '홍대 여신' 광풍으로 여러 명의 여성 보컬이 주목을 받았는데, 그녀 또한 홍대 여성 보컬의 계보를 잇는 차세대 주자로 인정받기 시작하였다. 3년 동안 라이브 무대에서 활동하던 그녀는 2011년 2집 '백만불짜리여자'를 발매하였다. '백만불짜리여자'는 소녀가 여성으로 성장하는 과도기에 놓인 작품과 같다. 소녀다운 감성에서 일보 전진한 듯한 재즈적인 사운드는 다양한 감성의 층위를 다루며, 그녀가 앞으로 걸어갈 음악적 행보를 새롭게 조명한다. 모노레일은 2집의 수록곡으로 뎁의 사랑스러운 보컬과 담담한 가사가 어우러진 곡이다. 봄날과 어울리는 그녀의 곡을 접할 수 있는 기회가 온다. 오는 4월 28일부터 29일까지 진행되는 'Beautiful Mint Life 2012'에서 그녀의 봄노래를 들을 수 있다.
'deb' is the songwriter regarded as one of the lovely singers in Korean indie scene, which gives her distinct identity as the singer. She started as the guest vocal in the indie band 'Peppertones' who had been famous for the nice combination of the acoustic sound based on the guitar and the base. While attracting fans to her voice matched well with the character of Peppertones, she could build her own career for the indie scene. After establishing her first career in Peppertones, she began to make her own album by herself for the first time. In the first album 'Parallel Moons' released in 2008, it is believed that she controlled the every process of making the album from composing the songs to programming them as well. She blended her lovely voice with the playful sound creating her own style, which is slightly different from the other indie girls who had stood for the girlish and pretty sound in Korean indie scene. After releasing her second album 'Million Dollar Girl' in 2011, she seems to step further from the past career showing the richer sound with the various instruments. 'Monorail' is one of the tracks in the second album 'Million Dollar Lady'. The song shows her typical style making people feel like being around the spring days.
