False Flags is a band designed around the concept of musical despair and a strategic sense of urgency. False flag operations originate in warfare and government as well as in civilian settings. Also known as Pseudo-Operations or Black Flag operations, the name is derived from the military concept of flying false colors -- a sort of maneuver or ruse. Such is the pretext to a musical gambit.
False Flags is comprised of Alfred von Blume (Daysleeper), Howard Melnick (Fashionista), Will Roman (Daysleeper) and Michael Suede (The Inside). All of whom were former collaborators or bandmates at some point in time, found that their unique combination of experience and expressionism marked by the use of atonality and complex, unconventional rhythm, melody, and form, echoed each other fluidly. The group is set on finalizing their live set and recording an EP for performance dates later this year around South Florida.
