Born in Dublin and raised until the age of eight in Manchester, Dublin singer and rapper Bitter Rocc, aka Richard O'Connor, started making music not long after his return to the capital.
Drawing on an eclectic array of influences - from Otis Redding to Kanye West, Johnny Cash to Adele - O'Connor wrote, produced, mixed and mastered both last year's much-lauded debut Cold City, ("one of the best Irish hip hop debuts in aeons", said HotPress Magazine's Paul Nolan), and new EP's, MMXIII pt 1 & pt 2 . A keen artist, animator and filmmaker, O'Connor also films and edits his own videos, as well as creating all of his outputs' artwork.
