Simply put, The SpeakerBox Experiment is an eclectic mix of individuals from the New Orleans music scene; each of whom has had the privilege of accompanying a host of major industry artists, as well as opportunities to play on local, national and international stages. Though each was successful in their respective careers, they came together through the band's founder—Nick Mercadel—to combine their creativity, ideas, and musicality with a single goal: to produce great music!
The SpeakerBox Experiment brings together the musical styles of writer, producer/composer, singer/songwriter and drummer Nick Mercadel; keyboardist, songwriter, producer/composer Jason Hodge; singer, producer/composer and keyboardist Marcus Doucette; singer/songwriter Anjelika "Jelly" Joseph; guitarists/bassists Ken & Shemaiah Turner and drummer Lemuel "Lem" Clark.
The band's collective talent enables them to write, compose and produce all of their own material to transcend genre boundaries; fusing Pop, Soul, Rock and R&B to create a sound that is genuinely theirs.
