Originally a solo project of singer/songwriter Gabriel DeSantis, Whitebrow now boasts a folk-blues quartet made up of some of Toronto’s finest musicians including Rosayln Dennett on Violin, Frank Evans on Banjo and Violin and Sam Petite on electric Bass. The self-titled debut, recorded over two weeks in an empty, 150-year-old church in rural Burlington, has garnered much critical praise since its release earlier this year. Le Discolab in France says, “Whitebrow is quite possibly the best folk album of this year.” Quick Before it Meltsdescribed the record as “creeky, creepy and utterly compelling.” The Toronto Star called it “Extraordinary” giving it 1st place on their anti-hit list, while CBC Radio's Here and Now selected “I Will Follow You Down” as the song of the week, citing the album as “Truly Special."
