Freedom Fry is the the alter-ego of French songstress, Marie Seyrat, and Michigan-born musical chameleon, Bruce Driscoll (Blondfire / Avicii). The duo reside in Los Angeles, CA and make desert warm, bittersweet, retro-inspired, indie-pop music.
When they take the music live they’re a four piece, joined by bassist Jonny Perdue and drummer Nate Lotz. Recently they’ve played alongside Phantogram, Mothxr, Grizfolk, We Are Scientists, Echosmith, Superhumanoids, Dan Wilson (Semisonic), Juliana Hatfield & Matthew Caws (Nada Surf) and were the Artist in Residence at ALT 98.7.
Their new EP, The Wilder Mile, came out in August and the band played the release party at Chris Douridas’ (KCRW) School Night in Los Angeles. The single and the accompanying remix by Urban Contact were both top 10 on the Hype Machine. The band also just released a video for The Wilder Mile and another for their new California inspired track, Home. A limited edition 12″ vinyl entitled, Fan Club – The Singles 2011-2014, will be released in November.
