Newcomer Emmi writes big, alternative pop-songs with soul and has a voice to match. Citing influences ranging from Amy Winehouse, Alicia Keys to Kate Bush, her penchant for a big chorus, a thought provoking lyric and a catchy melody has not gone unnoticed by the music industry.
Whilst writing tunes for other artists worldwide in genres ranging from folk to rap and back again, the Aussie/British nomad has been collecting stories and songs for herself in secret over the years. “It started as a sort of personal catharsis. Then it was a burning have-to.” ‘My Kinda Swag’ marks her first introduction to the world as an artist in her own right.
