Eren Coşkuner studied Music Education at Istanbul University State Conservatory and then graduated from Cologne Academy of Music.
In addition to the classical training, he continued his education in Jazz, focused much more in this area and performed numerous gigs and took part in many major festivals with his band.
Then he got more acquainted with Jazz Flute and jazz music, this time with a new mission, desiring to compose his own music and in 2013 his debut album 'The Long Way' is released under Gray Records label.
The album consist mostly of his own compositions, with Ercüment Orkut on keys and piano, Eylem Pelit on Bass, Ediz Hafızoğlu on drums. 'The Long Way' holds the reputation to be the first jazz flute album in the history of Turkish jazz and so has its unique place and importance in the Turkish music scene.
Internationally, "The Long Way" accomplished notable success: it is featured in WDRT radio programs in the United States and Coskuner hadchanceto play it in many international festivals some of which include 18. Istanbul Jazz Festival and Jazz Festival Eco Perelik in Bulgaria.
Besides his active stage musicianship, Eren Coskuner is an educator in KOU Faculty of fine Arts Department which is a public university. He lectures "Principles of Improvisation in Jazz Music" course with emphasis on academic and theoretical studies in jazz. The artist also teaches his private students improvisation and performance.
While his first album project "The Long Way" continues its journey in major festivals and jazz club concerts with Turkey's leading jazz musicians, both domestic and overseas, Coskuner continues to work on his second album.
