ALI AIMAN is all about DIY music. A one-man show, Ali’s signature gravelly voice, overlapping his minimalist beats and melancholic melodies has captured the eyes, ears and hearts of many. With the release of his debut EP, Overture in 2014, Ali bagged the number 7 spot in Eh! Malaysia magazine’s list of ‘50 Best Local Albums’ in their May 2015 issue amongst other acknowledgements, especially for his lead single, ‘Breathe’. It was included in British Airways’ playlist for High Life’s Malaysian Music together with other amazing local tunes. The lead single also appeared in Red Bull Music Academy’s official website for a mix by Malaysian duo Bass Sekolah titled ‘Train Wreck Mix’.
Ingenuity isn’t lost with ALI AIMAN. The release of his new single, 'Morning Sun', from his forthcoming EP, Transcend, which features oriental inspired piano melodies and unadorned bass beats, showcases Ali’s successful progression as a singer/songwriter and producer and represents his maturing yet distinctive sound, without departing too far from his signature self.
Being blessed with the opportunity to hone his skills at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Ali learned to refine his skills in music production and also jazz piano performance, which is reflected in his live performances and musical ability.
Now, following the success of his debut EP, Ali is performing extensively around KL and is frequently featured in Malaysia’s media platforms. The sky is the limit for Ali Aiman as he continues to experiment and touch fans with his soul-baring music. In his own words,
"Write for yourself and write for your listeners. That’s where the bond is created."
