Raygun Royale is a three-piece Rock’n Roll outfit, based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Their sound is one that shakes rooms and rattles bones. They are dirty, grit, garage rock’n roll with a stage presence which follows suit. They have taken traditional influences such as Led Zeppelin, Nirvana and Queens of the Stone Age and filtered the sound through the new wave sound of The Hives, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Bass Drum of Death and DZ Deathrays which leaves the listener with a groovy melody coupled with a thunderous and driving bottom end.
Since the band’s inception in late 2014 they have released one EP called ‘Night of the Moths’ (Released: 4 April 2015) which is a 3 track EP available on Bandcamp and Soundcloud for free download. In late 2015, the boys went back into studio to record their latest EP called ‘Electric Tiger Thugs’ which is due for release in May 2016. The EP is self-produced by the band with mixing and mastering being done by Jethro ‘The Baker’ Lock. The first single from Electric Tiger Thugs, ‘Side to Side’, being released at the beginning of February 2016. Raygun Royale is also currently endorsed by Marshall Music SA.
