Boulder-Filled BASE Landing in New Gorge Exit | Sketchy Andy's Slacklife, Ep. 10

The problem with jumping an untested, unopened BASE jump exit is that there's probably a REASON why it's not been jumped before... In this case, it may have something to do with the boulder-strewn-scrub-brush of a landing zone.

This is a video of Sketchy Andy's most recent BASE-kapades in Moab, UT.

From Andy Lewis: 'Out of all the places we have been searching, out of all the jumps we have opened, out of all the jumps I have ever done, this place is up in the top ranks! The Gorge was found by Daniel Moore and he wanted me to come up and look at it. He was vacillating on his decision to jump due to the incredible commitment needed to enter the gorge.

'You are high in the mountains, 3 miles from the nearest pick up, and no phone reception at all. He invited me out there to hopefully tell him not only that it was jumpable, but that we should indeed jump it. Daniel took me up, hiked me 15 min down hill to the exit, and we jumped it that day.

'Since then we have open three separate exits with hundreds of others available, moved 50,000 lbs of loose rock from the landing area, and flown almost 10 people down the gorge! ENJOY some MOORE SKETCHY exits!'
