Frontman ‘Johnny Wildblood’ started out as an acoustic, solo artist playing shows in bars and clubs throughout Sydney, Australia as early as 2010. This inspired Johnny’s brothers; to learn instruments of their own, with the aim that one day they could join Johnny on stage. That time came, and they haven’t looked back.
The Wildbloods draw from a variety of genres (indie, alternative, acoustic, blues, folk, grunge, punk) in creating their own unique sound. Their self-titled EP, released in 2014, consists of 3 infectiously happy and downright catchy songs that retell the band members’ experiences of growing up in a light hearted, positive, and at times, comical way. It was extremely well received with open arms by the masses, striking a chord with both community and commercial radio stations across Australia.
“I’ve got a warped sense of humour which sometimes lands me in trouble. But it also helps me deal with situations and see the funny side of life… even when things fall apart completely” – Johnny
After several Australian East Coast tours throughout 2014 and early 2015 the band set about recording their debut album ‘All The Adversity’.
“It had been over a year and a half since we had been in the recording studio. We had grown so much as musicians, as songwriters and as people and we wanted to produce an album that showed it” – Justin
With the exception of a few songs, this album focuses on the deeper aspects of life and delves into similar themes but looking at them from a whole new perspective.
From Johnny’s mellow voice to Juzzy’s striking solos, and all that’s in between – they are anything but your standard 4 piece.
Keep an eye out for their new album ‘All The Adversity’ due for release in early 2017
